The UK’s largest providers of lorry tension curtains, Structure-flex, are helping leading drinks brands keep their alcohol secure over the Christmas period in light of this year’s increased lorry theft.

To keep alcohol flowing this festive period, Structure-flex have helped a number of leading alcohol brands and distributors to keep their products safe and secure with their extra durable lorry tension curtains.

“The lead up to Christmas is always one of the busiest times for beer and alcohol companies as they deliver to pubs and supermarkets across the UK. As a proud manufacturer of lorry tension curtains, we’re thrilled to help our clients keep their products secure while they’re out on the roads this festive season” says Paul Reeve, Managing Director of Structure-flex.

During 2024, trucks carrying loads of alcohol were sadly a primary target for theft, with Sainsbury’s lorries being targeted “up to eight times a day” after leaving their distribution centres.

To deter vandalism and theft, including knife slashings, Structure-flex’s tension curtains feature a visible security system and are constructed with two options of protection – anti-vandal mesh and sio-steel.

The anti-vandal mesh is made from stainless steel close woven chainmail, which is embedded within the curtain to resist slashing or tampering.

Sio-steel is a lightweight and durable steel alloy made into flat stainless-steel strips. This high strength material features on the inside curtain face to ensure secure load containment.

“At this time of year, many alcohol brands are busy delivering their drinks products up and down the UK. With so many lorries on the road carrying these high-value goods, it’s more important than ever that we help keep them protected so they can safely deliver the Christmas cheer they carry” continues Paul.

Established over 50 years ago, Structure-flex is a family-owned business which specialises in manufacturing products from flexible plastics using high-frequency welding.

As well as being the UK’s leading supplier of lorry tension curtains, Structure-flex also deliver a wide range of digital printing from vehicle graphics, to wallpaper wraps and advertising boards.

Structure-flex have seen a busy lead up to Christmas thanks to an increased demand for their products from leading alcohol and drinks brands including Thatchers, Greene King and Heineken.

“Our team have been working incredibly hard in recent months to provide quick lead times for our alcohol and drinks clients so their fleets are not only protected, but look great this Christmas too” concludes Paul.
